Long Poem/Rap, a must read

well, id like to thank j wizzle fo shizzle and his poem, the world we live in. it inspired this rap. so here it is~

The Real World

Let's go back to the begining of time,
Before guns, sex, violence and street crime,
Before the bloods and the crips ran the streets,
Before I even layed down this beat.
Back hundreds of years when God gave birth
To the skys, the heavens, the humans and the Earth.
But he might not have done it if he saw what it would come to be
If you didn't notice, open up your eyes so you can see.
If you take a good look, you too would agree.
So give up a few minutes of your time and listen to me.
So be quiet and listen while I tell you these tales.
But hurry, please, before my train of thought derails.
First, I'm gonna tell you about the life of gangs,
Where a young kids life could be ended with a 'BANG!'
So many people die per day, the number is insane.
Then you think of all those families, going through all of their pain,
Just because their kid went through a walk down the lane,
And some other punk ass kid put a bullet in his brain.
Too bad no one ever told him he had a choice to live well.
Too bad no one ever told him he had a voice to rebel.
While his homeboys and family were sittin in a cell,
Day after day for twenty years, lives a living hell,
Sittin in that room, until he hears his death bell,
He could've been sucessful, owned a line of hotels.
But instead, hes lying on his back in a herse,
And when you think about what he could've done, it hurts.
His life was ended at the age of 16 when he died,
All over what? Some fucking gang pride?
None of it can amount to his families tears cried,
Because they tried to keep him out of gangs, they really tried.
I'm sorry if i sound pissed off, but this shit makes me sick.
And for those of you, whose minds just dont click,
Then I guess I'm gonna have to tell you another sad story,
About another kids life that ended in a death that was gory.
A story about how different someone's life can go
If when he was offered a hit, he had just said no.
Joel died at age 20, a crystal meth addict,
If only he could go back in time and predict.
It started out with one small hit of dope.
But when he took that hit, he lost all hope.
He wishes he could go back to that day he heard "Just try it."
He would've said "No." instead of staying quiet.
But this is what happens when you face a world full of pressure.
When your friend says "Take this and you'll be even fresher"
But look him in the eyes and say "No" and walk away
Say it loud,
Say it proud,
With no delay.
And when your friend looks at the ground in dismay,
You want to show courage, subbmision isn't what you want to display
"No" is all it takes, don't even say "Maybe"
Even if your friend trys to say "Man, Don't betray me"
Back on topic, let's take you back to the day,
The day that Joel threw his life away.
It started out with a hit of pot,
But a shitload of problems was all that Joel got.
He just took one puff, didn't think of the harm
Didn't think anything could happen, so he wasn't alarmed.
After that day, before he knew,
His life got worse, and his problems grew.
His whole life started to revolve around the drug,
That's when he started to mug
He robbed poor old ladies, just for some extra cash.
Extra money, to throw away, spending it on that trash.
Before you know it, he was over pot and onto Meth
He started it a few months before is final breath
He woke up one night and looked eye to eye with Death.
Then the reaper took his life like a theft.
There you go, another life lost to drug abuse.
So listen to this, let it be your excuse.
Not to do drugs, not to touch that dope.
Because when you lose free will, you lose all hope.
Now I hope that this rap has taught you a lesson,
Drugs and gangs aint no shit to mess with.
If you want to, go ahead, be my guest.
If you are that dumb, may god have you blessed.
Go ahead though, live your life crappy and stressful.
If any of you bitches need me, I'll be busy being successful.
